Ga. firefighters hurt in ladder collapse no longer work at dept.

All three received workers' compensation and benefits after the incident; their final day was Jan. 31

Three firefighters injured in July 2014 after their ladder truck collapsed no longer work for the fire department.

11Alive.com reported that the firefighters, T.J. Elliott, Will Griffin and Stephen Jackson, were hurt after falling 45 feet during a training exercise. After the crash, the county came under fire after officials uncovered the truck’s history of mechanical problems. The firefighters later sued the truck maker.
According to Hall County spokeswoman Katie Crumley, all three received workers’ compensation and benefits for the year and half after the incident. Their final day was Jan. 31.

"Several months ago, all three were encouraged to review a list of available job openings within Hall County Government and were met with to discuss their employment options as we move forward," Crumley said. "Unfortunately, a dire need remains to fill all active duty positions to improve departmental staffing levels within Hall County Fire Services and ensure adequate public safety for the Hall County community."
